Railway Metrics and Dynamics AB has entered into a collaboration agreement with AB Transitio
Railway Metrics and Dynamics AB (RMD) has today signed a collaboration agreement with AB Transitio as part of the Swedish Transport Administration’s innovation procurement “Measurement of Infrastructure from Railway Vehicles” (MAJ).
According to the contract with the Swedish Transport Administration, Railway Metrics and Dynamics will recruit and instrument vehicle owners, traffic organizers, and/or railway companies. As previously announced, Railway Metrics and Dynamics has entered into agreements with Tåg i Bergslagen, Green Cargo, Norrtåg, and Real Rail. It is now announced that Railway Metrics and Dynamics has also entered into a collaboration agreement with AB Transitio.
AB Transitio procures, finances, and manages rail vehicles. Railway Metrics and Dynamics will equip a number of these vehicles with sensors, Performance Monitoring Units (PMUs), to better understand the interaction between vehicles and infrastructure. The sensors then deliver information to the Swedish Transport Administration’s data exchange platform (DUP).
The information is also analyzed by Railway Metrics and Dynamics, which reports deviations and trends in the infrastructure, for example, through the company’s self-developed interface called Dashboard.
Our sensors measure the interaction between railway vehicles and infrastructure. Therefore, information about the condition of the vehicles is also generated, which AB Transitio can use to optimize its vehicle maintenance.
Jan Lindqvist, CEO of Railway Metrics and Dynamics.
– AB Transitio works to contribute to sustainable industry development. Together with the Swedish Transport Administration and Railway Metrics and Dynamics, we can jointly create conditions to improve the railway. It requires that the entire chain works together so that we and the entire industry achieve better punctuality and reliability, says Magnus von Bahr, CEO of AB Transitio.
