Risk & Insurance features RMD in an article about a new insurance concept for train operators
Risk & Insurance, in Swedish Risk & Försäkring, is a Swedish industry publication focusing on insurance, risk management and financial analysis. It is part of Dagens industri, Sweden’s leading business newspaper, and is widely regarded as an authoritative source for insights into the Nordic insurance market.
Last week, they reported on how Association of Swedish Train Operating Companies and Söderberg & Partners are now incorporating RMD’s preventive safety technology into their Risk Management Program.
The concept is built around a risk‑based framework where operators can reduce their risk exposure and insurance premiums by installing preventive safety systems. One example is precision GPS, which enables exact positioning and direct integration with emergency services. The continuous flow of positioning data also improves situational awareness during disruptions and strengthens punctuality for both passenger and freight operations.
The article also highlights several of RMD’s other safety solutions, including rear‑view camera systems that replace manual procedures associated with higher risk.
