100 PMU units delivery to TX Logistics
Railway Metrics and Dynamics (RMD) has agreed with TX Logistics to deliver 100 Performance Monitoring Units (PMU).
– We are very happy to have this cooperation in place. This means we move from pre installation testing to a commercial launch, says Jan Lindqvist, CEO of Railway Metrics and Dynamics.

There are large economic and environmental gains monitoring and presenting real time feedback to railway vehicles. The PMU sensors detect potential problems and alerts the driver immediately. For example, the PMU will make the driver aware if airbrakes have not come loose on the last few wagons in a 630-meter-long freight train, avoiding driving with locked wheels that could result in wheel flats.
A wide range of features
The PMU also detects and reports severe shocks during careless loading which can damage both goods and vehicles, plus detects and reports on geofencing, overloading and longitudinal chocks.
The general smooth driving because of real-time PMU-feedback also diminishes wear and tear on brake pads, couplings, wheels and other wear parts. It easier to drive the train smoothly, within the limits of the passenger ride comfort standard (EN 12299:2009). This gives the passengers a more pleasant ride and minimise the risk of costly passenger falling accidents.
